The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates industrial machinery mechanics, machinery maintenance workers and millwrights will see an employment growth of 5% from now to 2028. The increase in advanced machinery and automation, including the use of many computer-controlled machines, will require more trained mechanics and millwrights.
